Xmas-New Year status update!

Hello everybody and Happy Holidays to all!

Just a very quick update to confirm ongoing progress on all fronts! The German Luftwaffe 5th Fallschirmjäger Division's starter pack is in production, there has been some delay on the printer’s side but as soon as the boxes will be delivered to us this will be available.

Meanwhile 2 new Characters are now in 3D printing stage. Unfortunately our 3D printer had a motherboard failure, luckily it is still in warranty but the spares are going to get caught in the worldwide holiday postal rush, so we are going back to the printer service for these in order to avoid delays...

Also the “ACHTUNG PANZER!” 2nd volume rulebook (vehicles+Heavy Weapons) is getting real close now, should go to print in January which means it should be out in February.

After that there should be a series of quick releases of all remaining characters and weapons pack, and last but not least the US infantry starter pack and the BATTLE OF LANZERATH RIDGE mission pack, both in the working now, should follow suit.

Recently there has also been an interesting development, there is a growing interest for the game system (Huzza!) but many people have come forward with the same issue: while they really like the 1:48 figures they already have a significant investment in time and money in 28mm scale and therefore they are not too keen on taking on another scale, which is quite understandable… We always supported playing 1-48 with other figures, we try to offer the best possible miniatures but we would like people to choose to use our figures because they like them, not because we force them to!

  At the same time, as you have seen first hand, making new figures is a very laborious process and to ensure high quality it often requires to step back and redo something over and over, which means that regrettably we can only grow our range at a rather slow pace…

So we came up with an idea, why not make available all the cards to play first, and have the miniatures catching up later at their own pace?

 We will of course at the same time continue to grow the figures range, but if we concentrate on cards only releases we could allow playing with at least a dozen new factions in one year, about six times more than we can possibly do miniatures for!

We really hope you will be as excited about this possibility as we are, we are planning to do a “proof of concept” mini-campaign here on Kickstarter early next year (as soon as the wave 2 items are all sorted) and since many people are complaining that, while German player’s can mix in the old 1-48 Combat Characters and have much more choice, the US players have a more limited range of figures to pick from, it seems just fair to address that first!

There is also a rather nice set of plastic 1:48 figures available from Tamiya, if you are not familiar with it, there are some details here: https://www.tamiya.com/english/products/32513army_giset/index.htm

Tamiya figures are slightly thinner but should generally mix well with ours, except that the weapons are scaled exactly which means they are very flimsy and probably too delicate for most gamers to use. To address this we could eventually issue sprues of replacement weapons with slightly more robust weapons barrels, like the ones we use on our figures... we will look into that ASAP.

So here you have it, plans for the future! It will be a very limited project, probably 1 week only campaign, for a set of cards only, and designed so that can (but don’t have to!) be used with the Tamiya US infantry figures or any other figures you may already have… what you think? time for another quick update!

Hi guys,

as promised, here is the update for August!

with the 3D printing hurdle (mostly) behind us things are finally starting to move a bit faster: as I type we have the two new Characters in stock which are going to be released to the public in the next couple of weeks, and also the masters for two more new Characters are now ready: 48109 + 48211 (shown above) which are also expected to be in production shortly!

The RACE FOR GASOLINE mission pack is also basically finished, the fuel dump models are in production (you can see some of it in the picture above), the figures are in stock, the booklet is at the proof-reading stage (if English is your first language and you feel like to volunteer for it, you are welcome!) so all that is missing now are just some pretty pictures really... :)

While prepping all the remaining models for printing I've also started working on the models for the Fallschirmjäger starter pack and putting the final touches to the vehicles and heavy weapon rule book... I'm also doing some badly needed update to the schedule so hopefully next month I should be in position to give you a detailed picture of were we are with the development for every single missing item with an estimate for final delivery of all the outstanding wave 2 orders...

hi all,

trying to keep more regular updates as promised, so here is July's! :)

I want to share with you these pictures because I think they really give the feeling on what is going on at the moment... on the left it's 48206 as it came out of the mold last month. I guess for many manufacturer that would be "good enough", but that is not what this project is all about! To us, such low definition especially in the face is simply -not- good enough. So we went back to square one, found yet again a new solution for 3D printing the masters (and one which we hope is the final answer to all the issues we have had for that!) made a new mold for it, and what you see on the right is the new 48206 figure, the one you will get.

I hope you'll agree that it was worth all the extra work!

These are images of the actual production figures as they come out of the mold (not some touched up picture of masters, as many other like to show) I only assembled them and sprayed with grey primer! 

these are now both in stock as I type and I'm painting the samples for the cards, so should now be available shortly!

As mentioned above, we really hope we have now solved in a definitive way the last remaining hurdle to the production process. I know it has been a pain to wait so long and I'd like once again to thank you for you patience and understanding, but I'm sure you'll be happy with what you get once it ships, and to me that is the most important thing! In any case we should hopefully now be at last in position to start knocking the last remaining figures out at a reasonable pace... actually, we already started! :)

This is the special figure that goes in the first Mission Pack (also production cast, in stock as I type!) The model for the resin fuel dumps are almost ready for molds too, so the main thing left is to paint this fellow up, takes some nice pics for the booklet, tidy up the text and send it to print...

Also been working on the advanced rules book, but I'll leave that for next time... back to work on the next batch now!
